Refund Policy
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: August 18, 2026
Phoenix Compliance & Legal Services (“Phoenix CLS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to providing professional, timely, and detail-oriented services. Because our services involve dedicated time, preparation, research, document review, and administrative work performed specifically for each client, the following Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all services purchased from Phoenix CLS.
1. Services Are Non-Refundable Once Work Begins
All service fees are non-refundable once Phoenix CLS has begun performing the requested service.
Work may be considered started when Phoenix CLS has taken any substantive action on a client's matter, including but not limited to:
-
Reviewing information or documents submitted by the client
-
Beginning a bankruptcy petition or document preparation
-
Conducting research
-
Reviewing or organizing client information
-
Drafting or preparing documents
-
Performing data entry or document assembly
-
Beginning an estate or end-of-life document package
-
Beginning a compliance, contract review, or consulting project
-
Communicating with third parties on the client's behalf when authorized
-
Performing other substantive work related to the requested service
Once work has begun, the client is responsible for the full agreed-upon service fee regardless of whether the client later decides not to proceed, changes their mind, becomes unavailable, or chooses not to use the completed or partially completed work.
2. Cancellation Before Services Begin
A client may request cancellation before Phoenix CLS has begun substantive work on the requested service.
If cancellation is received before services have begun, Phoenix CLS may issue a refund of eligible service fees, less any applicable non-refundable processing fees, transaction fees, or other costs already incurred.
Refund eligibility is determined based on the status of the client's matter at the time the cancellation request is received.
3. Consultations and Appointments
Consultation and appointment fees are generally non-refundable once the consultation has occurred or the appointment time has begun.
If a client needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, reasonable advance notice is requested.
Phoenix CLS may permit a client to reschedule an appointment at its discretion and subject to availability.
Failure to attend a scheduled appointment without advance notice may result in the appointment fee being forfeited.
4. Bankruptcy Petition Preparation
Bankruptcy petition preparation services are non-refundable once preparation has begun.
This includes circumstances where Phoenix CLS has begun reviewing the client's financial information, organizing documents, entering information, preparing forms, researching applicable administrative requirements, or otherwise performing substantive work on the bankruptcy petition.
Phoenix CLS does not guarantee that a client will qualify for bankruptcy, that a bankruptcy case will be filed, that a petition will be accepted by a court, or that a particular legal or financial outcome will occur.
Phoenix CLS provides administrative and document-preparation services and does not provide legal advice or representation.
5. Estate and End-of-Life Document Preparation
Fees for estate and end-of-life document preparation are non-refundable once document preparation has begun.
This includes preparation, drafting, formatting, customization, review, organization, or other substantive work performed based on information provided by the client.
Clients are responsible for reviewing documents provided by Phoenix CLS and should consult a licensed attorney regarding legal questions, estate-planning strategy, interpretation, enforceability, or other matters requiring legal advice.
6. Notary Services
Fees for notarial services are generally non-refundable once the notarial service has been performed.
If a notarization cannot be completed because the document, signer, identification, or circumstances do not satisfy applicable notarial requirements, Phoenix CLS may determine whether any fee is refundable or whether the appointment may be rescheduled.
Any applicable travel, convenience, appointment, or other fees may be subject to separate terms.
7. Third-Party Fees and Expenses
Fees paid to third parties on behalf of a client may be non-refundable.
These may include, where applicable:
-
Government filing fees
-
Court fees
-
Recording fees
-
Shipping or delivery fees
-
Payment-processing fees
-
Third-party platform fees
-
Document retrieval fees
-
Other fees or expenses incurred at the client's request or as necessary to perform the requested service
Phoenix CLS will not be responsible for refunding fees that were paid to or retained by a third party.
8. Client Delays or Failure to Provide Information
Phoenix CLS's ability to complete services may depend on the client providing accurate, complete, and timely information or documentation.
A delay, failure, or refusal to provide requested information does not automatically entitle the client to a refund once services have begun.
If Phoenix CLS is unable to complete a service because the client does not provide required information, documents, signatures, approvals, or other necessary materials, Phoenix CLS may close or place the matter on hold without refund of fees for work already performed.
9. Client Change of Mind
A client's decision to discontinue services after work has begun does not create a right to a refund.
This includes situations in which a client:
-
Changes their mind
-
Decides to use another service provider
-
Decides to hire an attorney
-
Decides not to file or proceed with a matter
-
No longer needs the service
-
Becomes unavailable
-
Fails to provide requested information
-
Determines that the service is no longer necessary
Fees for work already performed remain due and non-refundable.
10. Errors or Corrections
If Phoenix CLS determines that a document or service requires a correction because of an error attributable to Phoenix CLS, we will make reasonable efforts to correct the issue without charging an additional service fee.
This does not include changes resulting from:
-
Incorrect or incomplete information provided by the client
-
A change in the client's circumstances
-
A change in the client's instructions
-
A request for additional services
-
A change in the client's desired outcome
-
Changes to documents after the client has approved them
Corrections or additional work resulting from client-provided information or changed instructions may be subject to additional fees.
11. No Refund Based on Outcome
Payment for Phoenix CLS services is for the professional services performed, not for a guaranteed outcome.
Phoenix CLS does not guarantee:
-
Approval or acceptance of a bankruptcy filing
-
A particular bankruptcy outcome
-
Debt discharge
-
Approval by a court, government agency, creditor, or other third party
-
Acceptance or enforceability of a document
-
A particular legal, financial, regulatory, or business result
-
That a third party will accept or approve a document or submission
A client is not entitled to a refund solely because the desired result is not achieved.
12. Refund Requests
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to Phoenix Compliance & Legal Services and should include:
-
Client name
-
Service purchased
-
Date of purchase
-
Reason for the refund request
-
Any relevant supporting information
Phoenix CLS will review refund requests based on this policy and the circumstances of the individual matter.
Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or limit any refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
13. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
Clients are encouraged to contact Phoenix CLS directly before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback.
Unauthorized chargebacks or payment disputes for services that have already been performed may result in Phoenix CLS providing documentation to the payment processor regarding the services purchased, work performed, communications, and applicable terms.
Nothing in this section prohibits a client from exercising rights provided by applicable law or by their payment provider.
14. Policy Changes
Phoenix CLS may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time.
The version posted on the website at the time of purchase will generally govern the applicable transaction, subject to any rights or requirements imposed by applicable law.
